Mike Anthony Cassio

Mike has been spending time enjoying the Grand Lake area since the late 1970’s and has been passionate about improving the environment for the past 25 years.  He has been a property owner on Grand Lake and with Three Lakes Watershed Association for the past 12 years.  In his career, Mike has managed and directed major environmental protection and cleanup projects for the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security throughout the US, Asia, Middle East and Europe and is passionate about supporting sensible environmental solutions.

Jeff Metzger

Jeff Metzger and his family have recreated in Grand County for 40 years. They enjoy the area so much they built a log home in Grand Lake 23 years ago. Favorite activities of his large, active and extended family are skiing, hiking, fishing, boating or just relaxing watching wildlife and the seasons.

Jeff worked for 30 years in the Financial Services and Investment Industry in various Executive Leadership, Management, Operations and Human Resource positions. His passion was to build and leverage people and process to add significant customer, employee and shareholder value. He had the privilege to work with some outstanding people at Standard & Poor’s, Colorado National Banks and Rocky Mountain Bankcard System before retiring in 2005. He has also served on several non-profit Board of Directors.

Jeff’s educational background is a BA from Johns Hopkins University (majoring in Biology, Economics and Lacrosse) and he has graduate education from the University of Colorado and the University of Virginia.

SECRETARY

Elwin Crabtree

Elwin Crabtree is currently the Secretary for the Association and has operated a business in Grand County for 50 years. Among many other public tasks Elwin served as a Grand County Commissioner when the Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District was formed and initiated the Design Review Standards for the Three Lakes area as an overlay to the Grand County Zoning Regulations for the area. Stephen S. Meyer

Steve Meyer and his wife Barbara moved to Colorado in 1999 from the Washington DC area where he was an aerospace executive managing and directing National Security Programs. He continued in that position in Colorado until he retired in 2005. He and Barbara love outdoor activities and professional musical theatre and became immediately attached to the beauty, activities, and opportunities in the Three Lakes area. They purchased a home in the Grand Lake area in 2007 and are full time residents.

He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam era, and has participated in supporting non-profit organizations throughout his lifetime. His financial acumen has come from a broad spectrum of financial responsibilities – Director of a large corporate defense sector business unit to treasurer responsibilities in Home Owner Associations, churches, Mission Teams, and the Three Lakes Watershed Association.

Cal Fulenwider is Chairman and CEO of a 4^th generation real estate company that was founded by his grandfather in 1904. Cal and his family have had a home in Grand Lake for over 30 years and are keenly interested in preserving it’s quality of life for future generations.

Howard (Howdy) Fry

Howdy Fry is a fourth generation Grand Laker with his great-grandparents discovering Grand Lake in the 1930’s and continuing with his parents meeting in the late 1940’s at a dance at the Pine Cone Inn. Every summer since with few exceptions the family would pack up the Pontiac station wagon, throw in the dog and head to Grand Lake for the summer to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and to escape the Texas heat.  Howdy moved to Denver in 1981 to be near Grand Lake and the wonderful outdoor activities this community offers. 

Howdy has spent 40 years in the financial services industry with Colorado National Bank, A.G. Edwards & Sons and Stifel Nicolaus working with individuals and organizations to meet their financial goals.  He has a Finance degree from Southern Methodist University and holds a Certified Financial Planner certificate.

In addition to his involvement with Three Lakes Watershed, Howdy sits on the board of Rocky Mountain Conservancy, the non-profit that supports Rocky Mountain National Park and associated lands.

John Brooks

John Brooks, a Chemical Engineering and Business graduate of the University of Colorado spent his professional career in senior management with chemical and environmental consulting and engineering companies, which involved responsibility for evaluating and implementing technologies involving some of the most complex environmental issues of our times. Activities ranged from environmental studies to remediation of complex environmentally impaired
properties for both private and government clients, and their subsequent reuse in viable commercial activities.

His families relationship with a Grand County goes back to 1903 when his wife’s Great grandfather build a cabin on Grand Avenue in Grand Lake. He has been actively involved in water quality and other issues affecting the Three Lakes area for the past 25 years. He is an active skier and fly fisherman and enjoys hiking and other activities in the area.
